Active International, the largest global independent corporate trade company, today announced the appointment of Catherine Hume to lead the firm’s expansion into Chile. As Managing Director, Hume will be responsible for leading all aspects of Active’s business in Chile, including day-to-day operations, sales and growth strategy.
“I’m delighted to be joining Active International at such a dynamic moment for the company and our market,” said Hume. “Interest in corporate trade is growing rapidly in Chile, especially as companies look for more innovative and efficient ways to conduct business. Active’s business model provides the solution.”
Prior to joining Active International, Hume was a founding partner and general manager of Trade Network, a corporate trade company based in Chile. In this role, Hume oversaw end-to-end business operations and developed a deep skill set in sales, negotiations, stock management, and team and business leadership. As a result of her work with Trade Network, Hume was honored as the Young Women Entrepreneur of the Year by Mujeres Empresarias de Chile.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to grow in the Latin American market and expand beyond our current operations in Mexico and Brazil,” said Fredrick Fuest, President, International Division at Active International. “Active’s global scope will provide immediate benefits to clients in Chile by restoring value to underperforming assets and allowing them to access media, business and travel services on an international basis.”
In addition to her role at Active, Hume is also on the board of Círculo Emprendedoras, a Chilean organization that supports women entrepreneurs.
